One-way valves and drain blockers
Stop sewage entering your property with one-way valves and drain covers
In some flood-risk areas, flooding can cause sewage from sanitary sewer lines to back up into your house through your drain pipes.
This is caused when a sewer system cannot handle the increased volume of water and it bottlenecks, consequently your basement or property can act as a reservoir until the water subsides. This is not only an inconvenience but also a huge health risk.
A one-way valve installed on the building's main sewer line will prevent back flow. It is designed to allow the sewers to flow naturally during normal conditions and to prevent back pressure during periods of heavy rain. When backflow does occur the flap is tightly closed, effectively blocking the pipe.
