Product Description
The FLOODTITE Door Panel is a plastic panel which screws, by hand and without tools, onto a fixing frame which has been pre-fitted onto the property by a local builder or competent DIY person. The fixing frame is securely fitted to the door frame, leaving the brickwork or stone façade undamaged. The fixing frame is manufactured using vacuum formed ABS, which allows it to be painted in the same colour as the door frame, thus making it almost invisible. This makes it ideal for any homeowner who doesn’t wish to advertise the fact that their house is flood protected.
FLOODTITE Door Panels are available in 30”(762mm) and 33”(838mm) widths. They are manufactured from high impact polystyrene using a vacuum forming technique, and the U shaped bottom, with its integral seal, is unique to our panels. This U shape uses the action of the floodwater itself to strengthen the seal. The panels are 24”(600mm) in height and are designed to withstand floodwater to a depth of 20”(500mm); anything more than this could cause structural instability to the building and is not recommended by the Environment Agency or the National Flood Forum.
Designed by our own engineers our Door Panel and the fixing frame are manufactured in the UK in an ISO 9001:2000 accredited factory in Oxfordshire. The complete unit is delivered boxed with the external grade silicone required for fixing, together with full fitting instructions ![]()
After the initial installation of the fixing frame, the panel can be stored away until the time of an emergency, therefore offering a quick and convenient solution (fitting time one minute)
Test results:
The door panels were tested and approved by the Loss Prevention Council, a part of the BRE (Building Research Establishment) in June 1999. The Loss Prevention Council concluded that “the device should be able to bring real protection against a …. flood.” Full test report available on request.
The door panels were again tested in 2008 by the Development Engineering department of Wavin UK (www.wavin.co.uk) who concluded that “it was easy to fit and worked really well.”
This price is for a supplied and fitted flood panel.
